In the Bitterroot Valley, water is ingrained with the way of life for many. Whether it’s through irrigation driving their livelihood or from the booming angling/outfitter industry. Water ties in for so many.
These topics were the focus of a new educational opportunity for local high schoolers provided by the Bitterroot Water Partnership this fall. This virtual field trip is in the form of a StoryMap where students can explore information on non-point source pollution and solutions to address it, snowpack, irrigation systems in the Bitterroot, and using irrigation water on the landscape.

The Bitterroot Water Partnership is proud to bring this opportunity to local students to learn more about our water resources. This project was funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency through the Montana Association of Conservation Districts mini-grant program.
